Our Story

Papa John planted his orchard in the 1970s as a passion project, and his fruit soon became well known throughout the San Benito community. Each season, he would put out a simple cardboard sign to let passersby know his fruit was available. Although Papa John has since passed away, his grandson shares his passion for citrus and continues to care for the orchard.

In 2024, Papa’s Fruit was officially branded and marketed—no longer relying on just a cardboard sign. A kitchen was built and Fresh Juice and Section Trays were introduced to meet the demand left behind by the Valley's beloved Granny Claire's, which had closed the year before. The community’s response was overwhelming, and Papa’s legacy lives on in a way he may have never imagined.
